As someone who grew up in the vibrant heart of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the inner city, I understand the challenges and limitations that many young people face when it comes to accessing opportunities. While some fortunate individuals may stumble upon good opportunities, it often comes with the dilemma of traversing across town or bearing a hefty price tag. I, however, was fortunate enough to peruse passion and educational based opportunities due to the unwavering support of my parents.
As I journeyed through adolescence and into young adulthood, this privilege not only fostered a deep sense of gratitude within me but also ignited a burning desire to advocate for those who were not as fortunate. I couldn't shake off the nagging question: What could I do to bridge the gap for those who lacked access to opportunities or simply didn't know where to find them? With this question fueling my passion, the concept of All Access Youth emerged.
The primary aim of All Access Youth is far more than showcasing the positive aspects of our Gwinnett community; it strives to create a connected and supportive network of growth. Whether these opportunities lie within the confines of schools or extend beyond their walls, I firmly believe that our younger generation has an abundance of knowledge, talents, and perspectives to offer. So often, negativity dominates our news feeds and social media platforms, painting a skewed and incomplete picture of youth culture. Together, we can challenge this narrative and provide real, authentic representations of the immense potential and positivity that thrives within our young people.
